The Type1 Foundation is a Geelong based volunteer run, not-for-profit charity. With an aim to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes through education in schools, medical practices & the wider community. They provide support & connect families living with diabetes which is a chronic, life threatening disease.
The Type1 Foundation is a cause close to Lucy's (Nana Huchy Co-founder) heart. When her son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 5 their whole world was turned upside down. Lucy understands the pressures that are placed on families living with T1D. So when she met Ange Liston-McCaughley (T1F Founder & CEO) who's daughter was diagnosed at age 9, she knew she could help in her own small way. Nana Huchy now donates Lou Dog, a cuddly comfort toy, which is included in the Type 1 Foundation care packs given to newly diagnosed children.
If you would like to support the Type 1 Foundation please head to their website where you can purchase your own Lou Dog.
